2017 Ackland Vineyard Riesling
The 2017 growing season in the clare valley saw a very cold winter with above average rainfall and a dry summer of warm days and cool nights. The first Riesling grapes were harvested in mid-February. Picking continued for over a period of 3 weeks and produced wines of generous flavours with mid weight fruit resulting in exceptional natural acidity.
The wine was made with a responsive winemaking approach to preserve fruit purity. The fruit was handpicked and gently crushed with only the best free run juice used. It was then cold settled and cool fermented with neutral yeast to dryness. The wine was stabilised prior to filtration and bottling.
With careful cellaring this Riesling will age for up to 10 years.
