2021 Ackland Vineyard Watervale Riesling

Tasting Note

Lime leaf and green apple aromas give way to fresh white cut flowers. Flavours are delicate and bright with power to persist, held together with precise acidity. The palate finishes with clean, slate minerality. Careful cellaring and patience will reward with graceful ageing.

Growing Conditions

A cool dry winter and hot start to summer had us bracing for another difficult vintage. Thankfully, we received some welcome rain at the start of February which helped to keep the vines fresh. Cool temperatures during February and March was perfect for vines to ripen exceptional flavours. The Ackland Riesling was harvested in the third week of February.  

Vineyard

The unique terroir of the Ackland Vineyard grows exceptional Riesling for our single vineyard wines. The combination of vine age, soils, aspect and elevation produce elegant wines, always considered a benchmark from each vintage.
