2022 The Insider Gewürztraminer

Tasting Notes

Gewürztraminer, hard to pronounce, delicious to drink. We call GT for short.  A highly aromatic variety, displaying perfumed aromas of rose petal, lychee, and citrus.  Grapes are harvested early in their development to retain high natural acidity, resulting in low alcohol which balances out perfectly with natural sugar from the ferment, and a little spritz on the palate for texture

Growing Conditions

A wet spring, with record November rain saw dams full and soil moisture making for a positive start to the growing season.  Favourable conditions throughout flowering and fruit set promoting quality and yield across all varieties. Cool conditions during December and January provided long steady ripening conditions, perfect for developing a combination of fruit flavours.

From a small patch of vines on our northern vineyards, this site is ideal for producing the aromatics and delicate style   for The Insider range.
